The author demystifies modern chemistry for the general reader. He has intentionally refrained from using purely scientific terms, choosing instead equivalent expressions from ordinary language. The book is a translation of the original French edition, "Molecule la Merveilleuse", which won the Glaxo prize for the best popularization of science.
